‘I dreamt I caught a little owl
And the bird was blue -’
‘But you may hunt for ever
And not find such a one.’
‘I dreamt I set a sunflower,
And red as blood it grew -’
‘But such a sunflower never
Bloomed beneath the sun.’
He came in the winter, sailing out of the sky, with massive
wings, a white snow owl
He perched upon a bird house, then cocked his head and
gave a scowl
For a death had occurred of Nana, a very treasured
As we watched this beautiful bird, one could not help
thinking he was a omen.
After awhile, the owl set out on its journey, as it sailed above the trees
One wanted to get down on their knees.
It looked like an angel saying good-bye
When the white wings started to blend in with the sky.
The owl has landed on the ground,
Honing its clawed-feet, and its beak,
Eyeing the rat that plays so near,
Obviously to take its one kill;
With finesse unmatched and eye-sight,
Looking with its two front-faced eyes,
(Capable of prime night vision) ,
And neck that turns a near circle;
Not making, any kind of noise
’To disturb the innocent rat,
Moving under the owl’s long wings,
Immensely spanned and majestic,
Shadowing the rat from moon-light –
Shining upon a lonely night.
Kindled by hunger-pangs overt,
Innately nocturnally timed;
Letting the rat to live awhile,
Longing to make the final swoop
Involving beaking of the rat’s
Neck and air-lifting the carcass,
Going those final inches when
Taking the prey by great surprise,
Hearing the scream of lethal kiss
Emanating from the rat’s throat:
And dissected piece-meal by owl –
The owl can’t miss killing the rat!
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
“O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
What a beautiful Pussy you are!”
Pussy said to the Owl, “You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?”
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-Tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

These owls have color
tan, beige, this one is tree
and that one is snow.
Brown, orange, grey,
even end up the color of clay.
These owls are fly
soaring through the sky
it doesn’t matter why.
White, fluff, grey sweats
freshly butt oven baked owlets.
Did not know fluff was a color.
Flutter, shy, air aghast
I’m chilled by the wind, going fast.
I’m lightning, i’m hot and frightening
I pass by without sound, wings lightening.
Seeing the world, its brilliance
Swaths of land, sturdy, resillience.
For many hours, rest and content
Else, drop and flare, a gleeful descent.

A hole small and big
in it, here I am alive.
Look at me, warm and fuzzy
at night, jump in and dive.
Bright light, in the morning
wait, then out my head will pop.
Bounce around for a bit
and later, can’t wait to belly flop.
